Get Started Using the BOM Manager
The BOM Manager allows you to start down two different paths:
Parts Lists or BOMs. A "Parts List", found under "Quote /
Ordering", allows you to quickly add or import a list of parts, and
then create a quote or order. A BOM, found under "BOMs / Kits",
allows you to create and save a specific "recipe", multiply it by
number of assemblies, and then turn it into a quote or order (including
single- and multi-kits). You can also turn a Parts List into a
BOM.
Create a Quote or Order from a Parts List
The Quotes system allows you to create
parts lists, access current pricing and availability for the parts, and
quickly place an order. Additionally, you can evaluate potential
discounts by comparing up to three order quantities side-by-side.
Choose one of the following options to begin:
- Create New Parts List (Manually) - Select this option to manually input the quantity and part number for each part desired.
- Create New Parts List (Upload File)
- Select this option to upload a pre-existing parts list file that is
either in comma separated value (CSV), tab delimited, or Microsoft
Excel (XLS) format.
- Create New Parts List (Text File Import) - Select this option to paste a CSV or tab delimited text file into the quote system.
- View Existing Quote -
Select this option to view a list of web quotes associated with your
company saved to the Digi-Key quote system. You can also find a
quote created outside the website by searching on the entire quote ID.
Build a BOM
The BOM system allows you to create
individual BOMs for specific projects and order them in specific
numbers of assemblies to suit your needs. Additional order
options include individually packaged multi kits for prototyping and
evaluation purposes or single kits that combine the parts required for
multiple units for production runs. Choose one of the following
options to begin:
- Create New BOM (Manually) - Select this option to manually input a BOM's individual part numbers and quantities.
- Create New BOM (Upload File)
- Select this option to upload a pre-existing BOM file that is in
either comma separated value (CSV), tab delimited, or Microsoft Excel
(XLS) format.
- Create New BOM (Text File Import) - Select this option to paste a CSV or tab delimited text file into the BOM system.
- View List of Saved BOMs - Select this option to view a list of BOMs associated with your company saved to the Digi-Key BOM system.
