The CY4500 EZ-PD™ Protocol Analyzer records traffic passively on the Configuration Channel (CC) and allows user to analyze and debug USB Power Delivery communication. The low-cost and compact CY4500 acts as a pass-through for VBUS, VCONN, USB 3.1, USB 2.0 and USB-PD traffic. The EZ-PD Protocol Analyzer Installer includes a free Windows-based GUI (EZ-PD Analyzer Utility) that can be used to decode the USB-PD messages. 
EZ-PD™ CCG3 Evaluation Kit
The EZ-PD™ CY4531 CCG3 Evaluation Kit (EVK) is based on the CCG3 product family (CYPD3xxx) of Cypress's USB Type-C controller with Power Delivery. This EVK is primarily intended to be an evaluation vehicle for USB Type-C systems specifically for Downstream Facing Port (DFP) and Dual Role Port (DRP) applications. This kit can also be used to demonstrate and evaluate an end-to-end Type-C system using the CY4501 CCG1 EZ-USB® FX3™ SuperSpeed Explorer Kit
The FX3 SuperSpeed explorer kit is an easy-to-use and inexpensive development platform enabling developers to add USB 3.0 device functionality to any system. The FX3 SuperSpeed explorer kit is built to evaluate and develop solutions with the CYUSB301x family of EZ-USB FX3 USB 3.0 peripheral controllers. The EZ-USB® FX3 device is powered by a fully-accessible ARM9 core with 512 KB of RAM. The FX3 device has a fully-configurable, general programmable interface (GPIF™ II) that can interface with any processor, ASIC, image sensor, or FPGA. 
USB Type-C and Power DeliveryUSB Type-C is the new USB-IF standard that solves several challenges faced by today's Type-A and Type-B cables and connectors. USB Type-C uses a slimmer connector (measuring only 2.4-mm in height) to allow for increasing miniaturization of consumer and industrial products. The USB Type-C standard is gaining rapid support by enabling small form-factor, easy-to-use connectors and cables with the ability to transmit multiple protocols and offer power delivery up to 100 W – a significant improvement over the 7.5 W for previous standards. This training video explains the technological advances introduced with the new USB IF’s Type-C Specification. It also shows how USB-Type-C can be designed into practical products. The four applications covered in this video are: host design, cable design, peripheral design and power adapter design. Working prototype of Reference Designs are presented for each application area along with design and debug tools. Cypress’s EZ-PD™ Type-C Controllers are based on Cypress’s PSoC® 4 programmable system-on-chip architecture, which includes programmable analog and digital blocks, an ARM® Cortex®-M0 core and 32 KB of flash memory. This product family is driving the industry’s first Type-C products with top-tier PC makers, enabling them to bring these USB Type-C benefits to market. Cypress has reference designs readily available for for EMCA, dongle, power adapter, monitor/dock, power bank, and other applications. EZ-PD™ CCG2 Type-C Cable ControllerCCG2 has an ARM® Cortex®-M0 with 32KB flash to enable firmware upgrades anytime, anywhere—during product development, on the production line or in the field.

USB 3.1 Gen1With constant innovation and technological advancements, the need for faster data transfer has never been greater. The USB Implementers forum aiming to provide a ubiquitous standard to solve these issues, introduced the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 standard in November, 2008. In applications such as image and video transfer, printers and scanners, handheld devices, and storages, where large amounts of data is created/consumed or needs to be processed, data transfer or offloading onto another source (mostly onto a PC because of its superior processing capabilities), needs to happen quickly.
