R4 Series Fixed Input DC/DC Converter

Mornsun’s R4 series fixed input DC/DC converter offers benefits in size, performance, reliability, and cost. The R4 series converter with micro chiplet system in package (SiP) technology achieves dimension reduction of 80% and saves cost for the customer.

In order to achieve miniaturization of the power supply module, Mornsun developed R4 generation; both the concept of embedded magnetic process in PCBs and chiplet SiP technology were taken into consideration. After numerous reliability tests, it was found that in some extreme application environments, the embedded magnetic process in PCBs had long-term reliability issues. Compared with an embedded magnetic process in PCBs, the R4 series with chiplet SiP technology not only allows for miniaturization but achieves better performance.

The dimensions (L x W x H) of the R4 series have been reduced by 80%, and its layout space (L x W) has been reduced by more than 50%. The R4 generation is a comprehensive decoupling of the constraints among dimensions, appearance, surface mount packaging, high performance, and high reliability as it integrates circuit technology, process technology, and material technology.

The R4 series is designed for use in distributed power supply systems and is suitable for applications such as digital circuits, low-frequency analog circuits, relay-driven circuits, and data switching circuits.
