Brushless Motor Control Drivers
Toshiba’s brushless DC motor control solutions are for sensorless motors with simple square wave drive
Toshiba features 19 brushless DC motor control drivers which consist of high-performance brushless controllers, flexible controllers with gate drivers, and turn-key fully integrated drivers for 3-phase or 1-phase brushless DC motor applications. These solutions are for sensorless motors with simple square wave drive or sensor-based motors with high-performance sinewave drive. Fully integrated drivers cover 4.5 V to 600 V and up to 4.0 A applications. Controller and Controller + Gate Driver products are flexible for a broader range of power applications.
Besides a wide range of architecture and power options, Toshiba introduces various technologies to optimize the brushless motor driving capabilities:
- Intelligent phase control: a technology that automatically synchronizes the driving voltage and current in a phase that optimizes the power delivery to the load. Experiments show high 2-digits power reductions can be achieved in many cases
- Close loop speed control: a feature that enables a critical speed can be self-regulated with tight tolerance and fast response without the need for external MCU and peripheral components
- Current monitoring function: the current is monitored and the average signal is output for the external host for system processing without an external opamp circuit
