Here is a CFD comparison between maxiFLOW™ and straight fin heatsinks. The result is that maxiFLOW™ also cools, to an extent, other components on the board. Note that the board mounted components numbered 1 through 4 exhibit a 5-6% decrease in temperature relative to the inlet ambient. For this example, the maxiFLOW™ is useful for indirectly cooling smaller critical components.
