Initially the output turns on and current in the load increases until it reaches the peak current limit as set by the sense resistor and the voltage on the VREF pin. Once the peak current is reached the device automatically initiates its internal crossover current protection which prevents shoot-through in the bridge and starts the fixed off time timer.
