Super Speed USB has advantages over High-Speed USB, eSATA and Firewire 800. Both eSata and Firewire 800 technologies are fast but neither has the broad market acceptance that USB has. The full-duplex Super Speed USB is 10X faster than USB 2.0 which is half duplex and can only communicate one direction at a time. USB 3.0 is faster than both eSata and Firewire 800, even while supplying and managing power to the end device.
