The same easy-to-use software and hardware tool-chain used with the Microchip tiny-, megaAVR, and XMEGA devices is used for the ATmega128RFA1. The free AVRStudio 4 software supports the ATmega128RFA1 with both commercial and free compilers available. Hardware tools include the ATmega128RFA1-EK1 evaluation kit, the AVR ONE!, the STK600 starter kit, and the JTAGICE mkII debugger.
