Microchip releases a new update of ASF every four to six weeks, adding more drivers and providing better bug fixes. However, it is the user’s decision when and whether to upgrade the drivers used in any of their projects. When the user selects a project for upgrade, they will be presented the warning dialog shown on this slide, giving the choice to upgrade at a time that suits the project schedule better. The user can even create new projects with old versions of ASF, should they want to do that.
