Windows-based software HMI platforms have revolutionized how systems can be designed to integrate with legacy software data collection systems at the plant level. PC-based systems allow flexibility in design and scalability from very simple HMI systems to very complex SCADA data acquisition systems. An “open” Windows-based system design protects the investment by allowing integration of tools from more than one “locked in” vendor.
