A buck converter with an input voltage of 48 VDC and output voltage of 1.2 VDC is demonstrated over the range of a few hundred kHz for very high efficiency to near MHz range for very small system size. A quick glance shows the eGaN FET converters demonstrating their advantage at higher frequency. At higher frequency there is also a substantial size advantage when compared with the 300kHz circuit.
