The QG family has a variety of system protection features, ranging from runaway code protection/recovery to system power protection to software IP protection. The independent clock source for the COP is a new feature on S08s, which will be implemented on all future devices. The always-on POR circuit is also a new feature. Having the POR on does affect the STOP IDDs, but significantly reduces the risk of not being able to recover in a brown-out situation.
