The 2.54 mm versions utilize a push-in termination design compatible with solid or stranded wires. For solid wires, or stranded wires with a ferrule, the wire can be simply pushed into the contact cavity, without any tool. Stranded wires without ferrule can be inserted with the use of a screw driver, which opens the spring. Once inserted the wire is held securely in place by the spring.
