Leaded Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (Leaded MLCCs) are multilayer chip capacitors that have conductive wire leads attached to both termination surfaces in order to provide a reliable electrical connection as well as a robust physical support. Adding wire leads to any device improves versatility by allowing for alternative methods of mounting and incorporating the device into a circuit. Unlike its surface mount counterpart, leaded devices can be integrated into a circuit without the need of a PCB.
