In addition to I²R losses, there are multiple factors that determine the maximum temperature of an MLCC. These include ambient temperature, thermal characteristics of the PCB, active and passive cooling of the PCB, and proximity of the MLCC to other sources of heat. When designing an MLCC for higher power applications, it is important to consider these factors to reduce the temperature rise in the MLCC and maintain safe operating conditions.
