Shown here is a good example comparing IO delivery of a client and datacenter SSD running a datacenter workload. As seen from the line graph the client SSD performs poorly with big swings in IO delivery, whereas the datacenter SSD is delivering IO in the same workload with very little variation in performance. The inconsistency of the Client SSD in a datacenter workload can have negative effects throughout the applications stack from the developer all the way down to the user experience at the user interface.
