When compared to rechargeable Lithium ion cells or primary non-rechargeable cells such as Zinc-Air, the NiMH cell, when paired with the LTC4123 chip, offers the best of both worlds: small form factor, acceptable energy density, and simplicity because the LTC4123’s linear charger does not require an inductor.
