Without the TimerBlox family, creating each of these timing functions require a unique circuit design. With a micro-controller, software is used to create the timing function by configuring internal registers, dividers and comparators for each specific timing function. With an R-C based device, the circuit is built by adding additional components externally. With the TimerBlox, the design is simple and complete. Best of all, no programming is required.
