There are different types of high-speed fuses. Round body fuses typically have pure silver element bridges contained within a Melamine or fiberglass body, filled with stone sand. The newer square body fuse design has a hexagon core with a special thru layer of material for current flow, and small silver bridges surrounded by copper parts. This helps reduce cost while increasing DC performance.
