All VULCON™ connectors are available in both gender options. This is a design decision at the engineering level and depends on the end use application. Usually females are preferred on the panel/box side to meet UL and other agency requirements. In more rugged applications, it may be preferable to have the male on the panel/box side with a female external cable eliminating moisture and contamination buildup at the panel/box.
