Designers can easily find a suitable relay by determining the characteristics for their specific application. There are three key factors to consider when researching a high frequency relay for an application: the impedance in ohms, the frequency band in Hz, and the desired high frequency characteristics: isolation (min dB), insertion loss (max dB), and the VSWR or return loss. These characteristics will be discussed on the following slides.
