MOSFET relays can easily replace photocouplers and MOSFET chips saving space and adding cost savings as well. MOSFET relays can also replace electromechanical relays; not only 1 form A, but also 1 form C relays, with the addition of a NAND gate to create a SPDT contact. The NAND gate swaps Vcc between the two control inputs of the FET to create a NC and NO contact. The amount of energy required is fractional as compared to a mechanical relay.
