Conventional PCB connectors have a pair of single springs to keep enough contacting pressure to pins. This structure creates considerable operational friction force in the multiplication of numbers of pins. Omron’s double-spring structure achieves very low insertion/extraction force with optimal contacting pressure. At inserting stage, the second spring releases contacting pressure to a pin by pushing the lever. At mated stage, the spring keeps applying proper pressure.
