The type of application shown on this slide is not possible with low cost contactless type sensors due to the gloss of the surface, and the high precision type is too expensive. This application requires the low force contact type. Since uniformness of thickness across the plate is required, multiple sensors may be used in combination with each other. The thickness requires an accuracy within a few μm.
