The Version 6 DIPIPM, shown on the right side of this slide, has the bootstrap diodes and current-limiting resistors built-in. This frees-up space on the printed circuit board and reduces the number of components that the design engineer must select and validate. There are fewer parts on the bill-of-materials and fewer parts to populate during manufacturing. The overall system design is simpler and lower cost.
