Hydro dynamic bearings consists of a shaft riding on a pressurized oil pocket held within the bearing. Without having a physical connection from one race of the bearing to the other, this type of fan bearing has low noise and vibration in comparison to the other types and has a long life because there are not any wearable parts in this bearing. Due to the simple construction, hydro dynamic type bearings are less expensive than other bearings.
