RIIM™ has a long range of up to 700 m in urban environments and up to 20 km line of sight (LOS) with the High Power module and up to 200 m in urban areas and 5 km LOS with a regular module. The RIIM protocol supports up to 29 hops, given a small payload. This means that the RIIM network can cover an area of up to 40 x 40 km squared. It is also important to note that the network is 2-way symmetric to also send data to the sensors or control units.
