To effectively turn a power transistor on and off, two different voltages are required. In the past, engineers would need to integrate two DC/DC converters to achieve these voltages. This can now be accomplished with a single part number. RECOM has developed many DC/DC converters with asymmetric dual outputs. This lowers the total parts required for an application, which will take up less board space and translate to a lower BOM cost.
