DC/DC converters are electronic components that provide voltage regulation and are oftentimes used for isolation between the input and output. There are three basic reasons to use DC/DC converters: to match the loads to the power supply voltage, to isolate primary and secondary circuits within the application, and to simplify power supply systems.
