Low Ohmic Resistors are commonly used to detect current in various power circuit applications. These current sense resistors are usually found in series with the load because it reduces the amount of power dissipated compared to higher value resistors. This slide shows typical applications in DC/DC converters, AC/DC converters, lithium ion battery charging and DC motors. Over the next few slides, this module will discuss each of ROHM’s five series of Low Ohmic Resistors.
