Thick film current sensing resistors are available in a wide range of sizes. It is difficult to achieve very low resistance values and very low TCR’s using thick film on alumina, but it is the lowest cost of the technologies offered and is inherently moisture resistant. Thick film will typically have the poorest surge current handling.
