Single pulse waveforms are most commonly described as the ratio of rise time from zero to peak amplitude over the time to decay to ½ the peak amplitude. Of the pulse types shown here, in the above table, the first two are most commonly used for lightning pulse withstanding for resistors, in accordance with IEC 60115-1.
