The magnet is parallel to the reed switch with the three lobes of magnetic sensitivity arrays. The magnet is placed in the middle of the center lobe and centered over the reed switch contacts. In this case it is known that since the magnet is within the Pull-in lobe the contacts will be closed. The magnet will now be rotated about its axis by 90°.
