The new cSPIN family offers two devices: the L6480 and L6482. The L6480 uses a novel technique based on voltage mode to reach high performances and the finest smoothness. The L6482 uses a current-control technique, enhanced by an ST patented predictive algorithm. They both have a logic core to fully manage the motion and an SPI to communicate with the application microcontroller.
