A better approach is to eliminate the variation by the forward voltage drop of the LEDs by connecting the devices in series and driving them with a constant current. If we do that, all of the LEDs in the series connection are driven with the same current and their illuminates will match very well. For all the illumination applications that we are going to discuss, we’re going to be driving the LEDs in this configuration.
