The main difference between traditional Wi-Fi and SimpleLink Wi-Fi is the integration of all the SW components (Wi-Fi driver, Supplicant, TCP/IP, and SSL ) into the SimpleLink device – which significantly reduces the MIPS and Memory requirements from the Host MCU and allows for a low power solution. Using the SimpleLink Wi-Fi devices, an embedded product can be connected securely to the Internet.
