This slide shows one of the Value Line parts compared to an existing competitive low end 8-bit microcontroller. The MSP430 offers more memory, more flexibility, more functionality, more MIPS and more I/Os for more data. It is also easier to develop code on the MSP430. Also add the built-in system emulation and the five Low Power modes vs two (not available in typical low cost 8-bit micros) and the customer has a powerful low power solution that speeds up their time to market.
