The table on this slide is a comparison between the LM5017 and a popular competitor’s part which is a basic fly-back. The 1030 has a 200 V switch built in, allowing it to be used in the same isolated bias supply applications. As can be seen, the LM5017 approach requires ten fewer components, therefore fitting into a much smaller solution size and providing good efficiency.
