One of the key elements that determines driver life-time and reliability is the stress applied to the electrolytic capacitors and how well they handle it. Thomas Research Products takes several precautions against capacitor failure, such as using premium capacitors from Panasonic and Nichia instead of their more inexpensive and less reliable counterparts, as well as by overrating the capacitors so that they never operate at more than 80% of their ratings.
