To further enhance the performance of the VY1 Series, Vishay has redesigned the series which includes replacing the silver electrode with copper. This redesign has resulted in a smaller disk size, higher pulse voltage capability, enhanced reliability due to a reduction in metal migration and lower cost. The redesigned version has the X1/Y1 safety rating according to IEC-60384-14, and sample kits are available. When ordering the redesigned version, please note the new part number.
