The VCNL4035X01 has higher sensitivity than the VCNL4020 or 4040. Previously the longer range was mentioned, the graph on this slide demonstrates that point. Using a Kodak gray card which has 18% reflection, it can be seen that for a particular emitter current the 4020 has a range of 30 mm, and the 4035 has a range of 100 mm. The VCNL4035X01 has three times the range.
