The Skin and Proximity Effect are two physical effects caused by eddy currents in the wires of a coil. They are related to the frequency used in the coil and increase the RDC. This can be influenced positively by the use of litz wire. High quality litz wire reduces the RDC and the area of “unused“ copper.
