There are three factors that can influence pressure sensitive adhesive performance and the designer’s choices. The first is the surface in which the adhesive is bonded to. For optimal bond formation, the pressure sensitive adhesive must flow into the minute valleys of the substrate. This requires matching the surface energy of the adhesive to the substrate.
