CH Products joysticks utilize Hall effect sensors to measure the physical travel of the joystick’s handle. When the handle is moved, magnets attached to the joystick’s shaft pass by the Hall effect sensor, causing a fluctuation in the magnetic field, resulting in a voltage change that is interpreted by the integrated CPU. While this training module focuses on Hall effect sensing techniques, other methods such as inductive or resistive are available from CH Products.
