Another device that is excellent for going from a high voltage bus to a low voltage rail is the ISL8117/A. It is very easy to design with thanks to a wide 60V input voltage range, efficiency of up to 98%, and internal compensation with default design values to save on external components. Additional features include selectable frequency, DEM with pulse skipping for better light load efficiency, and protection from under voltage, over voltage, over current, and over temperature conditions.
