An analog switch is just that: a switch. However, unlike a mechanical switch or relay, it uses a semiconductor device as the switch. Just like mechanical switches and relays, they are available in different configurations: single-pole single throw (SPST) and double-pole double throw (DPDT). Most of the same configurations available for mechanical switches are also available for analog switches.
