Nichicon’s polymer capacitors can withstand much higher ripple currents and offer much lower ESR ratings than standard aluminum electrolytic capacitors. One polymer capacitor has the same ripple current and ESR capabilities as 7 to 9 standard aluminum capacitors used in parallel. This creates a great advantage in reducing cost and printed circuit board (PCB) real estate.
