A loaded PIFA is short circuited to the PCB ground, and the antenna element electrical length is wavelength divided by four (λ/4). The PC board layout and size affects overall PIFA frequency, bandwidth, feed impedance and total radiation performance. Other PCB factors that have effects on the PIFA are the PCB electrical length, the position of the antenna on the board, and grounding points on the layout.
