When applying the ceramic PIFA, the ideal location is centered on the length of the PCB. The second best location would be within no less than 10mm of the top or bottom edge along the width of the board. The E-Plane is in the same vertical plane as the length of the PCB, therefore the radiation pattern is best suited for applications in which the device orientation may be other than vertical. The typical radiation efficiency of the ceramic PIFA is greater than 70%.
