The impedance of an MLCC is much lower than a Tantalum capacitor. The lower impedance allows replacing the Tantalum capacitor with a much lower MLCC cap value while giving the same circuit performance. Depending on circuit function and frequency, MLCCs can be 10-100% of the original capacitance. Therefore, DC bias of the MLCC should also be considered.
